I'm not sure Landis & Hughes put enough local business on this birdseye of Asbury Park, New Jersey [gmap]. All of the L&H prints I've come across are pretty unlovely... but this one is unlovely and rather crass.

The lede in the Wikipedia article says that Asbury Park was voted "6th best beach in New Jersey."

Asbury park is where Bruce Springsteen learned to play the drums – which he apparently even did professionally for quite a while. He even recorded an album about Asbury park. Of course all of this was before producer Glenn Caron took a chance on him and cast him in his breakout role in Moonlighting. Less than three years later, with the release of the blockbuster Die Hard, Bruce Springsteen would go on to become a household name. But there's still a little bit of Asbury Park in 'em... you can be sure about that.
