This Paul Hadol map of an anthropomorphized Europe is begging for the Frank Jacobs treatment (assuming he's not written about it already).
Even with the "this is what is happening, dummy" cheat-sheet text at the bottom, I'm afraid I'd be straining the limits of my underfunded-U.S.-public-school* education were I even to grope for some contextualizing analysis.
(* Note to U.K. folks [and possibly other Europeans]: I've recently learned that "Public School" in the U.S. means roughly the opposite of what it means to y'all. Here it means, like, where the public goes to school, for free. Someone tried to explain to me why it was that in England "Public School" meant "Where well-off folks pay to have their kids go to school", but I still don't understand. If you'll pardon me saying so, I think that our way of naming school types makes a bit more intuitive sense.)
