Today is the 71st anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor [gmap]. To commemorate the date, I'm posting this map of the approximate position of the ships of the U.S.'s Pacific Fleet during the attack.
If you like fascinating reads, look into the often-ignored Niihau Incident, in which a Japanese pilot named Shigenori Nishikaichi crash-landed into Niihau after participating in the bombing.

Do you know this map a recreation of the locations of the ships done at a later date or was this something that was done that day, before the attacks?
Can’t answer conclusively, Bryan, but I’d bet a large amount of money that this map was created after the attack.
