This map isn't part of any series, but we have other maps of American Indian lands that you might want to check out.
This is a really interesting and exciting map about an event that was pretty goddamn terrible. I've followed it up and down its course with fascination and interest, all the while feeling a bit conflicted.
It depicts General John Sullivan's scortched-earth march against the Iroquois in the Summer of 1779.
Beautiful map, though. No denying.

Pretty sure this map was created by Colonel Dearborn of the Continental Army under Sullivan. I used this same map – a cropped section – in my 2009 mystery thriller Crown of Serpents based in these same Finger Lakes of NY. One of the most heinous torture deaths ever recorded in American military history happened at the end of this campaign at the Sept. 13th marking in the upper left corner of the map. That tragedy can be read here: http://www.crownofserpents.com/backstory
Valuable analysis, Michael, as always. Much appreciated.
