My good friend Peter just moved (back) to Baltimore for graduate school. St Louis is sad to see him go, but happy he's in a town that he's always spoke of with such fondness.
Best of luck, Peter. Have a blast; hope to see you again soon.
UPDATE: A commenter over at Baltimore's City Paper website sheds some light on possible authorship:
Thanks for publishing the Overhead view of Baltimore, one of many graphics produced by the City's Planing Department during the time I worked there. Your readers should also know that much of the work was produced by Jim Hall, featured in a City Paper article several years ago on his whole body tattoos. Al BarrySo it's looking like we have Jim Hall to thank for this beautiful map. Jim, if you're out there, get in touch; I'd love to see more of your work.
A note of thanks:
This image is from Johns Hopkins' Sheridan Libraries, who are to be commended for doing the right thing and sharing their maps. It is my hope that other institutions will come to share this progressive vision for the constructive stewardship of their collections. If you'd like to show your support for their forward-thinking policies, one thing that I know would be apreciated would be to donate to their cause.
