This map is part of a series depicting the 40 largest cities in the United States (as ranked by CBSA). This series will run through the month of July.
Bailey's birdseye depiction of Milwaukee, Wisconsin [gmap] is a good one.
The print depicts an impossibly busy port, showing riverine barges and boats of the Kinnickinnic, Menomonee, and Milwaukee Rivers giving way to larger ships plying Lake Michigan's choppier waters.
Never spent much time in Milwaukee, but it seems like a place I'd like. A town almost as identified with beer brewing as my own St. Louis. I'm sure there are other similarities. Y'all managed to only lose around 25% of your mid-century population (compared to our 60%+), so you must be doing something right.
Seems too damn cold, though.
Edit: My Grandmother tells me that a Great-Uncle of mine named Frank Zeidler was the mayor of Milwaukee throughout the 1950s. Never met the guy, and hadn't known that.

When I try to download this one, I get an error message that says the .jpg can’t be downloaded because it has errors. Any idea what’s happening?
I love the map!
I just tried it on two different browsers on two different networks, Abijah, worked fine for me both times.
Maybe refresh the page and try again?
Kind regards,
