Robert Saindon was commissioned by the U.S. Forest Service to make this map depicting the Rocky Mountain leg of Lewis and Clark's expedition.
It's a handsome and very interesting map... but I've seen similar maps released directly from the USFS in various vector formats; this one has some pretty wobbly compression artifacts. If anyone finds this in a higher-quality format, let me know.
