This map isn't part of any series, but we have other California maps that you might want to check out.
As an avid cyclist, with close ties to many other avid cyclists in California. I'm just going to go out on a limb and say that this is going to be the most popular map on the Big Map Blog ever.
This is beautiful, detailed, and just... it's just amazing. I haven't the words. I've left the map collar because even the advertisements are gorgeous.
If anyone has any other large bicycle-themed maps, I would love to see them. Please pass them along to king@bigmapblog.com.
For more map resources and imagery from this period in 's history, check out the California Historical Society's website.

As a Southern Californian, all I can say is “harrumph” at the tiny corner that Blum has given us. And as someone from Long Beach, all I can do is laugh at seeing Long Beach on Santa Monica Bay.
Beautiful map overall though!
How big is the original map? It’s awesome!
Ellie,
The original map is 47cm × 33cm (about 18.5″ × 13″).
Glad you liked it.

North of San Francisco, in Sonoma County, west of Santa Rosa, Duncan Mills is noted. This is a mistake. Where Duncan Mills is located should be Freestone. Duncan Mills is located north, at the next location where the N-S railway crosses a bike route. Otherwise, beautiful. Thanks for getting it up on the web. Amazing stuff.
