This map isn't part of any series, but we have other California maps that you might want to check out.
It's credited to Stone Co. but this birdseye map of San Jose, California [gmap] bears too many similarities to the Britton & Rey maps for it to be mere coincidence.
Or, who knows... maybe they swapped templates? Did engravers have templates?

The key is in the pictures lining the edges of the map, if you blow up the map far enough, you can make out in red the corresponding numbers of the targeted buildings .
